Garry’s Retreat is a play about life’s tragedies and accidents of youth, told through the monologue of the titular character, Garry. In remembering, and at times misremembering, a story which may or may not be his own, Garry confronts the audience with the question: What do you remember, and when did this happen to you? Garry’s Retreat forms part of VR Theatrical’s Short Playwriting Contest. The contest aims to create a platform and develop new and emerging writing voices and directors.
